All Participants are responsible for obtaining an Oregon Fishing License and Salmon Tag. All State of Oregon fishing regulations shall apply.
Friday (7/10), Saturday (7/11), and Sunday (7/12) are the 3 fishing days. Participants may fish 1, 2, or 3 days. The entry fee is the same, regardless of # of days fished.
Judging for grand prizes will be based on gross weight of the individual fish entered. In the case of a tie; girth and length will be measured, Largest wins. (1st fish in final)
Judges reserve ther right to disqualify any fish or participant for illegal catch or violations of the rules and regulations. All decisions of Official Derby Judges are final.
All eligible fish must be caught from a vessel in the Pacific Ocean off the Brookings-Harbor coast. No fish caught in a river or another state will not be allowed. Fish taken by dock or shore will not be accepted. Fishing with commercial gear is not allowed.
All persons with a valid fishing license and salmon tag are eligible to enter the derby. ALL persons with a valid fishing license aboard a vessel must also have a valid derby entry. All fish brought aboard the vessel could be deemed ineligible and not qualify for any prizes. Guides and charters, please notify our derby planner if you will be taking derby Participants out during the competition dates.
Entry to the Derby must be received by 7:00 am the day you begin fishing. There is no discount for fishing less than 3 days. (Examples: If you only fish Sunday, registration must be received by 7 am Sunday. If you fish Fri, Sat, and Sun, registration must be received 7 am Friday)
Artificial weighting of fish will disqualify that person from the Derby. Any fish may be opened and checked by Derby Officials.
The weigh station will be open by 9am each day. Fish caught on Friday and Saturday must be weighed in by 4 pm of the same day. Fish caught on Sunday must be weighed in by 3 pm of that day. Fish must be weighed by a Designated Slamin' Salmon Derby Official.
Prizes must be claimed within 10 days. All unclaimed prizes will become property of the Slamin' Salmon Ocean Derby.

The Derby will be held in the Port of Brookings-Harbor. Parking lots have been divided into three (3) ZONES.
All Parking is on a first come, first serve, basis. Zones 1, 2, and 3.
Unhitched trailers will be towed. Zones 1, 2, 3, and Beyond.
ONLY ZONE 3 Outlets A, B, and C are considered “Two Ways”. And will be managed as such.
All moorage and overnight (Boat and Trailer) parking can be arranged with the Port of
Brookings-Harbor Office (541-469-2218), located in ZONE 2, Outlet B. Spots are assigned on a
first come, first serve basis.

ZONE 1: Boat trailer, hitched to vehicle, parking ONLY! Described as launch entrance, boat
ramps, and proximity. There will be a total of five (5) “Parking/Traffic Control Personnel”
working in this zone. Two (2) “Launch/Pedestrian Coordinators”; assisting launch users,
directing traffic, guiding pedestrians, and managing cross walk. Two (2) “Ramp Coordinators”;
assisting/guiding launch users, monitor exit, and direct launch traffic to parking. One (1) “Lot
Manager”; managing overall lot flow, places/removes “LOT FULL” sign as necessary, assist in
directing traffic to proximity parking, and act as a derby guide.
ZONE 2: Boat trailer, hitched to vehicle, will be parked in spaces along Lower Harbor Road.
Passenger vehicles and regular port and retail patrons will be managed in this ZONE. Described
as the parking area stretching from Rhiggetti’s Property (Foggy Bottom) and “Outlet A” to the
gravel’s edge “Outlet C”. Delineators and cones will be used to manage parking sections within
this ZONE. There will be a total of four (4) “Parking/Traffic Control Personnel” working in this
zone. Three (3) “Outlet Managers”; rotate outlets A, B, C and their proximity, move delineators
when necessary, places/removes “LOT FULL” signs as necessary, and act as a derby guide.
One (1) “Boat Wash Director”; Assist/Direct use of the boat wash and vehicle maneuvering, and
act as a derby guide.
ZONE 3: Vendor and overflow parking. Described as the gravel lot in proximity to the “Boat
Shop” and “Unhitched Trailer Parking” (AKA “The Green Building”). There will be one (1)
“Parking/Traffic Control Personnel” working in this zone. “Lot Manager” will move delineators to
allow access to vendors, vehicles hauling trailers, and over-sized vehicles.
"Lot Manager" will also be called to assist in Zone 2 as needed!
Options for other proximity parking and shuttle availabilty are currently being vetted and negotiated. Please "stay tuned" for updates!!!
